Truth, Abundance, and the Media’s Darkness

Folks, in recent days Elon Musk sat down for a long interview and spoke with unusual clarity about truth, the future of humanity, and the importance of caring for people.

He is not a follower of Jesus Christ, yet the Lord sometimes uses even those outside the faith to highlight things the world wants to hide.

As believers who hold to the authority of Scripture, we can examine his words carefully, give thanks for every echo of truth, and stay alert to the spiritual battle around us.

1. Truth Matters

In the video, Elon talked about the importance of truth. He spoke of saying that artificial intelligence needs to be “maximally truth-seeking.” Well, that struck me. Because Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

To God, Jesus isn’t just one way among many; He is the way. He is the truth of God Himself, and the only approach to the Father. There is only one way, not many ways, to God.

Truth is not something we invent. Truth is a Person. And when any man, no matter who he is, starts saying that truth matters more than popularity or political correctness, I say “Amen.”

The media today has gotten so far from truth that they call good evil and evil good. Isaiah warned us about that long ago.

As followers of Jesus we must be the most truth-seeking people on earth, clear, accurate, and unafraid.

2. Caring for People

He also said that this AI ought to care about humanity and want people to prosper. That touches something deep in the heart of God.

The Bible tells us that every person is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). The Lord is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). He cares!

Peter goes on to explain that the reason the Lord has not yet brought everything to its final end is not because He is slow or indifferent. It is because He is patient and longsuffering.

He is giving people time to turn to Him in repentance, even people like Elon.

The scoffers of Peter’s day failed to see that God has intervened before, as He did in the days of Noah with the flood. They missed the truth that His delay is an act of mercy.

So any time we hear someone speak of valuing human life, we can thank the Lord for that.

Yet we must always remember that the greatest care of all was shown when Jesus laid down His life for us on the cross.

3. Real Abundance

Elon spoke of a coming age of abundance, where there would be more than enough for everyone.

Well, God is a God of abundance. He “gives us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Timothy 6:17). When Paul wrote those words to Timothy, he was speaking to believers who had more than just the basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter. Notice that Paul does not tell them to get rid of their wealth. Instead, he calls them to be good stewards of what God has given them. I’m not speaking against Elon here; he has been a generous steward and has given to many charities.

But Jesus also warned us, “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). Those words come right after Jesus spoke of His own death and resurrection, and then called His disciples to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him (Mark 8:34-38).

In God’s kingdom, true greatness is found in self-denial and sacrificial service, not in how much we possess.

Material abundance without Christ is still poverty of the deepest kind.

The real abundance is the abundant life Jesus came to give. In John 10, Jesus contrasts Himself with the thief who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.

As the Good Shepherd, He says, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). That is the abundance that truly satisfies, life in Him.

4. Order, Borders, and Western Values

Elon rejected the media’s “far-right” label as false and misleading. He listed simple principles, secure borders, safe cities, and sensible spending, as normal and centrist.

He warned that large-scale immigration of people whose beliefs are antithetical to Western values will eventually bring conflict.

Scripture affirms the value of ordered nations and just laws. God Himself “has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings” (Acts 17:26).

Governments are called to restrain evil and protect the innocent (Romans 13:1-4).

Caring about the safety of cities and the preservation of a culture that still carries remnants of Christian influence is not hatred — it is wisdom and love for neighbour.

A Clear Warning about the Leftist Mainstream Media

In this interview exposed something darker. The interviewer repeatedly tried to paint concern for borders, safety, and Western values as extreme or hateful.

Elon pushed back hard, noting that the media itself is widely despised and that its characterisation of ordinary people is often “false and misleading and nonsense.”

This is not new. The prophets faced false prophets who cried “Peace” when there was no peace.

Jesus Himself was opposed by the religious and political elites of His day who preferred power and narrative over truth.

Today much of the leftist mainstream media functions in a similar spirit: it suppresses inconvenient facts, labels disagreement as hate, and works against the biblical order of family, nation, and moral clarity.

Believers must not be naïve. We are called to “test all things; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Consume media carefully; keep away from the MSM. Measure every claim against the Word of God.

Refuse to let the world’s labels define what is right and wrong.

Encouragement for the Saints

Take heart. The Lord is still on the throne. He is not surprised by artificial intelligence, cultural confusion, or media deception.

He remains the God who “works all things according to the counsel of His will” (Ephesians 1:11).

Lets ponder these points and let it stir us to greater faithfulness:

• Seek truth relentlessly, because Jesus is the Truth.
• Love people genuinely, all because they bear God’s image.
• Hold loosely to earthly abundance and cling tightly to the eternal riches in Christ.
• Stand and make a stand for order, justice, and the good of our neighbours without apology.
• Discern the media with the mind of Christ, not the spirit of the age.

Above all, keep your eyes on Jesus ~Technology will change ~ Governments will rise and fall ~ Media empires will come and go ~ But “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

May the Lord strengthen you, guard your heart, and fill you with hope as we await His return.
