Thanks to Mahyar Tousi for highlighting this development. The Scottish Government is moving forward with plans for a Digital Identity system.

In a world that has already seen so much control through the pandemic, many people are concerned about where this is heading. Governments are increasingly talking about digital IDs, vaccine passports, and greater control over areas such as travel, purchases, energy use, and more, all managed through an app or digital system.

As Christians, we should be watchful and prayerful. The Bible warns us in the book of Revelation about a coming time of great control during the Tribulation, where no one will be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast (Revelation 13:16-17).

While we don’t know exactly how these things will unfold, we can clearly see the direction the world is moving. Technology is making global control easier than ever before.

The great hope for believers is this: Jesus is coming for His Church. One day soon, the Lord will return for all born-again believers, those who are alive and those who have already passed away, in the Rapture. After that, the world will face the seven-year Tribulation, followed by the glorious return of Christ to establish His 1,000-year Kingdom.

Let us stay close to the Lord, live holy lives, and keep looking up, for our redemption draws near (Luke 21:28).
