Distinctives of Born Again Fellowship.
- Centrality of the Word of God
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Our teaching is rooted in expository preaching—going verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter through Scripture—to equip believers with the full counsel of God and to allow the Holy Spirit to apply it to their lives. - Primacy of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the head of our fellowship, and our ultimate aim is to know Him, glorify Him, and be conformed to His image. We emphasise the new birth (John 3:3) as the foundation of our identity as “born again” believers, trusting in His death, resurrection and return. - Empowerment by the Holy Spirit
We seek to be led and empowered by the Holy Spirit in all aspects of ministry and personal life. We encourage the exercise of spiritual gifts as described in Scripture (e.g., 1 Corinthians 12), always practised in an orderly way, with love as the guiding principle. - Simplicity in Worship and Fellowship
Our gatherings prioritise heartfelt worship, prayer, and the study of Scripture in a relaxed, welcoming environment. We value authentic relationships over rigid formality, fostering a sense of family where all are encouraged to grow together. - Focus on Discipleship and Evangelism
We are committed to making disciples who make disciples, sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ with Helensburgh and beyond. Our mission is to see lives transformed by the gospel and to support believers in living out their faith daily. - Non-Denominational Unity
We are not bound to any denomination, nor do we oppose them. Our unity is based on God’s love and the essentials of the Christian faith, avoiding division over secondary matters. We welcome all who seek Jesus, regardless of background. - Pastor-Led, Spirit-Guided Leadership
Our church is led by a pastor (or team of pastors) who seeks God’s direction through prayer and Scripture. While accountable to God first, leadership remains approachable and open to the input of the congregation, fostering mutual encouragement. - Expectancy of Christ’s Return
We live with an eager anticipation of Jesus’ imminent return, motivating us to holiness, service, and urgency in sharing the gospel. We hold to a pre-millennial view of eschatology, believing in a literal reign of Christ on earth. - Grace- Centered Community
We emphasise God’s grace as the foundation of our salvation and our relationships. This fellowship is a place where broken people find healing, forgiveness, and restoration through the love of Christ and one another. - Commitment to Prayer
Prayer is the heartbeat of our ministry. We rely on God’s guidance and power through consistent, fervent prayer, both individually and corporately, trusting Him to work in and through us for His glory.
