Hi, friend from Finland!
We’re so glad you visited bornagainchristians.org. You might be part of the Lutheran Church, like many in Finland (over 65% of Finns). Or maybe you’re exploring faith on your own. Either way, we want to share a simple message about Jesus and invite you to a deeper walk with Him, one that lines up with the Bible.
What We Believe
At bornagainchristians.org, we believe the Bible is God’s Word. It tells us how to know Jesus personally. John 3:3 says we must be “born again” to see God’s kingdom. This means trusting Jesus as your Savior, turning from sin, and following Him with your heart. Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” It’s about a real relationship with Jesus, not just traditions.
A Look at Lutheranism
In Finland, the Lutheran Church is a big part of life. Most people are baptized as babies and see it as part of being Finnish. But we believe some Lutheran teachings don’t match the Bible. For example, infant baptism isn’t found in Scripture. The Bible shows baptism as a choice for those who believe in Jesus, like in Acts 8:36-38, where a man says, “I believe,” and then gets baptized. Babies can’t choose faith, so we see infant baptism as unbiblical. It might make people think they’re saved without knowing Jesus personally, which can lead them away from true faith.
This isn’t to judge anyone. Many Lutherans love Jesus! But we want to invite you to check the Bible for yourself, like the Bereans did in Acts 17:11. Does your faith rest on a ceremony or a living relationship with Christ?
A Historical Example
This year, 2025, marks 500 years since a man named Conrad Grebel baptized adults who chose to follow Jesus, starting a movement for biblical faith. He read the Bible and saw that baptism is for believers, not babies (Mark 16:16). His courage inspires us to follow Scripture, not traditions. You can too!
Finding a Church Like Ours
We believe church should be a place where people know Jesus, study the Bible, and worship with joy. In Finland, some churches share this vision, like the Pentecostal Church or Free Churches. They focus on personal faith and baptize only those who choose Jesus, like we do at Born Again Christians. You can visit helluntaikirkko.fi (Pentecostal Church) or radiodei.fi (Christian radio with church connections) to find a community near you. These churches are small but full of people who love Jesus and live for Him.
Your Next Step
God loves you and wants you to know Him. Maybe you’ve been baptized as a baby but never made a personal choice to follow Jesus. Or maybe you’re seeking answers. We invite you to:
Pray: Ask Jesus to be your Savior. Say, “Jesus, I believe in You. Forgive my sins and lead my life.”
Read: Check out John 3 or Romans 10 in the Bible. See what God says about faith.
Connect: Visit a church like the Pentecostals in Finland or email us at peter@bornagainchristians.org. We’d love to pray for you!
You’re not alone on this journey. Five hundred years ago, people like Grebel asked, “What does the Bible say?” You can ask that today and find true faith in Jesus.
With love,
Peter and the Born Again Christians Team
