I wanted to share with you a wonderful set of messages from the Reformation 500 Conference held at Clogher Valley Free Presbyterian Church in 2017.
These sermons by the late Dr Alan Cairns have been a great blessing to me, especially during my long ultra runs. I often listen to them on my MP3 player. Dr Cairns had a deep understanding of church history and the doctrines of the Reformation, and he presented them in a clear, heartfelt way.
Here are the messages from the conference:
- Luther’s Theology of the Cross
- Martin Luther – The Monk Who Shook The World (Romans 1:17)
- The Bible Only, the Religion of Protestants (Ephesians 6:17)
- After Darkness, Light (Isaiah 8:19 – 9:2)
- Grace Alone: The Heart of the Gospel (Ephesians 2:4-7)
I miss Dr Cairns’ teaching greatly. In these confusing days, it is good to go back to the solid foundation of the Reformation and the great truths of Scripture that were recovered: Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, and to God Alone be the Glory.
I highly recommend these messages. May the Lord use them to stir your heart as He has mine.

I found these videos on YouTube and I wanted to share these sermons that have had a great impact on me, especially on Martin Luther and the Reformation. Dr. Cairns had given me a new relationship with this reformer Luther in reading his material.
I very much miss Dr Cairns in these days where the world is a mess, Dr Cairns was like a safety net for me as he was someone I could trust.
