Beware: False Claims of a Group in Crewe

A Group Making Big Claims

A group called the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light is based in Crewe, England, not far from us in Scotland. Their leader, Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq, says he is the Mahdi, an Islamic saviour. He claims to be the true Pope and a successor to Jesus and Muhammad. He says his group is the true religion and will build a divine state. These claims sound like the false messiahs Jesus warned about.

What the Bible Says

In Matthew 24:4-5 (NKJV), Jesus said, “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” We must be careful. In 1 John 4:1 (NKJV), we read, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” We must check Hashem’s claims against God’s Word.

Are Their Claims True?

The group makes four big claims:

  1. Hashem is the Mahdi: He says he’s a divine leader named in Muhammad’s will. Islamic scholars say this will is fake. The Bible says only Jesus is our Savior (John 14:6, NKJV). No evidence supports Hashem’s claim.
  2. They Are the True Religion: They say they follow Adam, Zeus, and Jesus, and the Quran is corrupt. Muslims and Christians reject this. The Bible says God is one (Isaiah 44:6, NKJV). Their ideas come from new beliefs, not truth.
  3. They Face Persecution: They are attacked in places like Egypt and Malaysia. This is true, as human rights groups report arrests. But persecution doesn’t prove they’re right.
  4. They’ll Build a Divine State: They want a kingdom led by Hashem. No such state exists, and some say the group controls followers, not frees them.

Concerns About This Group

A reporter, Be Scofield, calls them a “dangerous doomsday cult.” She says Hashem pushes followers to do wrong things, like cut off family. Police don’t prove these claims, but they raise red flags. The group’s strange teachings, like aliens and a Kaaba in Petra, don’t match the Bible or Islam.

They utilise YouTube to share their ideas, which means we could encounter their videos while in Glasgow, possibly running through universities and across Scotland.

Why This Matters to Us

We believe Jesus is the only way (John 14:6, NKJV: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”). Hashem’s claims can confuse people. We must protect our faith and warn others. This group is small, with no known activity in Scotland, but their online reach is big.

How to Stay Safe

  • Read the Bible: Test teachings against scripture. Jesus returns clearly, not in secret (Acts 1:11, NKJV: “This same Jesus… will so come in like manner”).
  • Pray for Wisdom: Ask God for truth (James 1:5, NKJV: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally”).
  • Talk to Your Church: Share questions with our elders.
  • Avoid False Teachings: If you see their videos or flyers, check them against the Bible.

Our Call to Discern

Only their persecution claim is true, but that doesn’t make them right. Their other claims don’t hold up to God’s Word or evidence. Let’s hold fast to Jesus, test every spirit, and pray for those misled. If you hear about this group, let’s talk and pray together.
